The Series 2 and 2a vehicles manufactured between 1958 and 1971 represented a significant improvement on the original Series 1 vehicles, and are now seen as good, robust useable vehicles with ever increasing classic status.
This 1968 model had been off the road for some time when we began a total ground-up nut and bolt restoration to exacting standards. A new galvanised chassis was the basis of the build, and all mechanical items were either overhauled or replaced. A new bulkhead was sourced. The body was subject to a full and exacting bare metal respray, re-galvanised cappings fitted, all new wiring loom and electrics, with new seats and good quality used and original Safari headlining completing the interior.
Our care and attention in sourcing and fitting period-correct items gave this Land Rover a top class finish to concours standard, making it arguably one of the very best examples in existence.
